To protect the health, safety, and welfare of the people of Marion, the City of Marion requires all new buildings and homes and remodelling, electrical and plumbing work to comply with the building codes of the International Code Council. Various forms for building inspections, zoning variances, building permits, etc. are available in our online documents library. The City of Marion Building inspector enforces the following codes:
International Building Code 2000®
International Residential Code 2000®
International Plumbing Code 2000®
National Electric Code 2008®
Permits are required from the city and may be obtained at: City Hall, 208 E. Santa Fe. The fees for permits are:
